A photo diary of India

How does one start a photo diary? Is it with mt favorite moment from my trips through India? Favorite photo? Or maybe just from the beginning? I have visited India three times now, and every time I fall even more in love with the country. Even though I visit some of the same places, I seem to have a different experience on each occasion. Every visit is different, and so are the experiences that come along with it. I find that I develop as a person and creator each time I visit India. I face new challenges, and try to take them on as best as I can. Please enjoy my photo diary of India.

Delhi

What better place to start than the capital city. Delhi often has a bad reputation for being too loud and dirty. Too much traffic and too many people. I have grown to really like Delhi. Something is constantly happening, and you have to watch your every step. When I visit, I try to venture out in the mornings and late afternoons, and therefor avoid the times when too many people roam the streets. Delhi is exciting. Especially during sunrise.

Agra

Probably the most famous place in India, and the second city in the golden triangle. Home to the Taj Mahal of course, which is why tourists normally flock here. I do so myself as well, and I will most likely go back a fourth time, whenever I visit India again. Taj Mahal is just a special place, and even though it is normally filled with people, I always love exploring it.

Jaipur

The last city to make up India’s golden triangle. Jaipur is also known as th pink city, due to the fact the buildings in the city centre are often painted in pink. At least that’s how the story goes. Jaipur is a beautiful city, and though I have been a bit let down photography wise during all of my visits, I still love exploring the city.

Jaisalmer

The golden city, often said to be Indias last city is a stunning place to explore. Besides from the fort it self, there are lots of small villages around, that are really interesting to explore. In Jaisalmer, you also have the opportunity to go into the desert and spend the night. Something I had planned to do, but had to cancel, due to a cancelled flight. Walking around the fort of Jaisalmer, you will have the feeling of being inside the Aladdin movie.

Kabini

Getting to explore Kabini national park was a special experience. Driving around the jungle everyday, looking for wildlife, I learned a lot. Both photography wise, but as a person as well. Most notably, patience. There were times where we would sit for 30 minutes, no sound or movement. It was difficult. Especially the times where we didn’t catch any wildlife, which was unfortunately most of the time. But that’s how wildlife photography is, and when we finally got a good sighting it was amazing.

Varanasi

One of the most, if not the most, holy city in all of India. Varanasi is a must visit on any trip. Walking between the ghats, you will be completely overwhelmed. In many ways, Varanasi is an attack on the senses, but I mean that in a good way. It is a truly interesting city.

India is probably the most real travel experience I have ever had, and I can’t wait to explore more of this incredible country.
